MICROSORT LAB TECHNICIAN
at Microsort in Dubai
MicroSort® (www.microsort.com) a division of Genetics & IVF Institute will soon open a laboratory in Dubai. MicroSort® laboratory activities involve the flow cytometric separation of either X-chromosome bearing sperm or Y-chromosome bearing sperm from human semen.
MicroSort® laboratory technicians are responsible for the evaluation and preparation of human sperm for use in assisted reproduction procedures, operation of sophisticated laboratory instruments, adherence to exacting laboratory protocols, and accurate reporting of results. Other duties include media preparation, quality control, stocking and inventory control, data entry, report generation, and other duties as assigned. Weekend, holiday rotations and some after-hours work may be required.
The laboratory technician will receive task-specific training in Fairfax Virginia USA for at least eight weeks. The successful candidate will either be resident in the United States now or have the required visas to visit the United States for training. The candidate will initially be located in the United States or able to travel to the United States for initial training. After completion of training, the candidate will relocate to Dubai.
Qualifications: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in the biological sciences and some recent lab experience. Familiarity with the operation of laboratory instruments and equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, pipettors, and incubators is a plus. Andrology and/or flow cytometry experience desirable. Background in cell processing, sterile technique, and reproductive biology is desirable. Must have good communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a desire for advancement. Must have willingness to receive direction. And understanding of universal precautions and/or bloodborne pathogen training helpful.
Candidate should be fluent in both English and Arabic possessing advanced oral and written communication skills. Please state level of proficiency for both languages. Must have authorization to work in the United States such as an H-1B visa or an employment authorization document. .Relevant visas/work permits for Dubai and living experience in Dubai are a definite plus.
